Tigers fare well at Carl Junction

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- Four Nevada Tiger wrestlers earned medals Saturday in the Carl Junction Invitational.
Dayton Miller took first at 106 pounds with a pin of Carthage's Dakota Jones in just 1 minute, 2 seconds, while Colby Smith took a 4-1 decision win over Seneca's Devin Madison at 220.
The Tigers filled one of their most significant holes when Sam Ellifrits made his season debut at 285. Ellifrits made good on his long-awaited return, taking third by pinning Carl Junction's Jared Klouse in 2:37.
Daxtyn Osburn rounded out the medal-winners for the Tigers as he fell in a 19-9 decision to Willard's Gage Blake in the third-place bout at 138 to take fourth place.
As a team, the Tigers finished eighth overall with 106 points. Carthage won the team title with 122.5 points, edging Seneca by 11.5. Monett finished third, Willard was fourth and Carl Junction was fifth.
The Tigers are to make their return to Wynn Gymnasium today when they host Adrian at 6 p.m.
