The Nevada High School junior varsity boys' basketball team got back into action Tuesday night at Wynn Gymnasium, hoping to erase the rotten taste left in their mouths by a 56-34 defeat at the hands of Carthage last Thursday night, but that was not to be as head coach Neil Barnes' squad suffered its second defeat in as many games to the Panthers of St. Mary's Colgan High School.

Things started out well for the Tigers as Bryant McKinley kept them in the contest with three 3-pointers in the opening half. Colgan's stiff defense proved to be simply too much for the Tigers to handle, however, and the Panthers ultimately took the victory by a final score of 34-23.

Next on the schedule for the JV Tigers is Friday, when they head back out on the road to take on McDonald County.
