Arts center, multi-purpose building proceed

Workers have poured the concrete floor of the new multi-purpose building which will be usable as a second basketball court as well as other purposes.

Work proceeds on the Ella Maxwell Center for the Performing Arts, left, and the multi-purpose building at Nevada High School, right. The performing arts center is expected to be completed around the start of the 2014-'15 school year and the multi-purpose building, should be finished before school starts. The multi-purpose building will be useable for basketball games, indoor baseball practice, drill team performance, as well as, provide a space than can house large meetings. The performing arts center is located north of the high school where the paved parking lot used to be, and the multi-purpose building will be attached to the northwest corner of the building,

The Ella Maxwell Center for the Performing Arts continues to take shape. It is slated for completion around the start of the 2014 school year.
