Tiger grapplers fall to Carl Junction

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- The Bulldogs of Carl Junction edged the Nevada Tigers wrestling team Tuesday night, 34-27.
As has been the case on a number of occasions over the past few years, the Tigers gave up some due to open weight classes, but not quite as much as in some duals this season. Four Tigers posted wins in the seven contested matches with Daxtyn Osburn, Dalton Shunkwiler and Sam Ellifrits all earning pins and Colby Smith posting a 5-2 decision at 220 pounds, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome the 12-point advantage Carl Junction got from the open weights.
Senior Slade Stiles missed Tuesday night's dual because of an injury and head coach Devin White said he is doubtful for Thursday night's Senior Night dual against Buffalo in the Wynn Gymnasium, but should be ready for the district tournament a week from Friday and Saturday at Clinton.
