Smith scores 43, Tigers maul Bulldogs, 80-59

SPRINGFIELD -- Nevada High School senior Silas Smith poured in a career-best 43 points to lead the Nevada Tigers to an 80-59 victory at Springfield Central Tuesday night.
Smith moved up two spots on the all-time career scoring list at Nevada High School to 12th with 1,051 points, just two shy of eleventh and 22 away from cracking the top 10.
Fellow senior Nathan Colopy joined Smith in double figures with 19 points as the Tigers improved to 15-7 going into Wednesday evening's seeding meeting for the upcoming Class 4, District 12 Tournament at Carthage.
Tre' Robinson led the Bulldogs with 23 points as Central slipped to 3-17 on the season.
The Tigers led, 27-11, after one quarter and 54-29 at the half. Nevada also won the junior-varsity game, 44-40.
The Tigers are scheduled to visit El Dorado Springs Friday night for a varsity/junior varsity doubleheader.
