Wednesday, February 27, 2013
On Saturday, Feb. 23, Nevada TaeKwon-Do held a black belt testing. This was a very special day, as a lot of firsts happened for the school and head instructor, Mr. Lee Ogle. It was the first time he had promoted anyone to second-degree black belt and he promoted three on this date. Also, it was the first time he had three students going for first degree. Of those, he had two females. He had never promoted a female to first degree in 20 years of teaching. Pictured, left to right: Chris Haynes, promoted to first degree; Ms. Faith Gilbert, promoted to first degree; Mr. Andy Brannan, promoted to second degree; Head instructor and third-degree black belt Mr. Lee Ogle; Mrs. Heather Berning, promoted to first degree; Mr. Cliff Whitworth, promoted to second degree; Mr. Steffan Ogle, promoted to second degree; Mr. David Gordon, third degree. Gordon was a guest judge and is the head instructor at Lamar TaeKwon-Do.
