27th annual home show signals spring
Despite the threat of more winter weather, one upcoming event is sending a clear signal that spring is on the way -- 27th Annual Nevada Home & Leisure Show, set for March 15 and 16 at Nevada Middle School.
Produced by KNEM/ KNMO Radio in Nevada, the Nevada Home & Leisure Show features products and services from businesses in southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas.
Each year, the show includes some items never seen before by the general public as some businesses use the event to promote new products or services, according to a news release from the radio station.
Mike Harbit, president of KNEM/KNMO Radio, said this year's show will once again be filled to capacity by exhibitors, with 55 businesses displaying their products and/or services.
Many of the businesses are taking part for the first time.
"This year's Nevada Home & Leisure Show will be as good as any that we've had, with some outstanding exhibitors," Harbit said. "We feel this is a big annual event that kicks off spring and we certainly thank all the exhibitors and those who attend that make it a huge success each year."
The show will he open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. March l5 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March l6, in the Nevada Middle School gymnasium at 900 N. Olive. Admission is free and concessions will be available, with proceeds benefitting the Nevada High School After-Prom Committee.
Plenty of parking also will be available and door prizes will be given away, Harbit said.
