Herbert Harvel Knight
Herbert Harvel Knight, 81, of Walnut Ridge, Ark., died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Bay to Herbert H. and Dessie Martin Knight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie, and three brothers, C.W. Knight, Jamie Knight, and Rayburn Knight. He was a gospel preacher for more than 60 years and had served at churches of Christ in Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Texas and Louisiana.
Survivors include two sons, Roger (Kina) Knight of Paragould and Richard (Christine) Knight, of BentonviIle; five daughters, Pat Knight, of Walnut Ridge, Donna (Doug) DeMent, of Cardwell, Mo., Sharon Knight, of Nevada, Mo., and Sarah (Alan) Whaley and DeeDee (Daniel) Bridges, both of Clover Bend; two brothers, Ted Knight, of Conway and Jack Knight, of Bay; two sisters, Linda Dix, of Bay and Laura Belew, of Biloxi, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Walton Weaver and Ted Knight officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Cardwell Cemetery, in Cardwell, Mo. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Tuesday, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Roger Knight, Richard Knight, Stephen Knight, Ryan Knight, Daniel Bridges, Jeb Bridges, Doug DeMent, Alan Whaley and River Whaley.
