Cottey softball games canceled

The Cottey College Comets softball team has felt the sting of Mother Nature's wrath for the second time in the 2013 season.

Head coach Shelli Stanley's squad was scheduled to head out on the road to take on Kansas City, Kan., Community College Tuesday afternoon, but those games were called off due to weather. The Comets are scheduled to make their home debut this afternoon, at the new Vanek Family Memorial Field, taking on the Missouri Valley College junior varsity softball squad, weather permitting.

First pitch in the first of two games scheduled is set for 1 p.m.
