The Bushwhacker Quilt Guild met at Moore-Few community room March 14 at 7 p.m. with 13 members and six guests.

President Loretta Laman, who introduced special guest Marian Wood of Joplin, called the meeting to order.

Wood presented a trunk show, assisted by Gary and Linda McCauley of Nevada, her cousins.

Mrs. Wood showed many quilts and wall hangings, which showcased her talent for applique work.

She gave many of her wall hangings as gifts to the guild members.

Among those receiving Mrs. Wood's gifts were Joy Taylor, Cindy Medley, Erica Skouby, Becky Bruce, Linda Strong, Sandra Horvath, Loretta Laman and Janice Almquist.

Becky Chandler and Joy Taylor won guild door prizes. Taylor also won the fat quarters exchange.

Janice Almquist and Hazel Swartz furnished door prizes. Hazel Swartz and Marilyn Johnson served refreshments.

The Bushwhacker Quilt Guild quilt show will be two days this year at Bushwhacker Days June 7-8.

The Friday show will be open from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Quilts can be checked in by 2 on Friday at the Nevada Community Center. Saturday's hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
