Cottey College Comets dedicate new softball field

The Vanek Family Memorial Field at Cottey College was dedicated Friday afternoon in front of a standing room only crowd. Though Cottey's games against Fort Scott Community College were called off due to wet field conditions, the day's festivities included speeches from Judy Rogers and Dorothy Vanek, as well as awards presentations and a pair of ceremonial first pitches. A reception followed the event at the Helen and George Washburn Center For Women's Leadership on the Cottey College campus.
