Nevada track competes at Raymore-Peculiar Invitational

PECULIAR, Mo. -- Nevada's boys' track team took ninth and the girls 13th in Raymore-Peculiar track invitational Friday.

Nevada finished ninth in the boys' division with 29 points. Raytown took the team title with 135 followed by Rockhurst with 128, Ruskin at 97, Raymore-Peculiar at 86, Kearney at 49, Warrensburg at 41, Belton at 32, and Rock Bridge at 31.

Following the Tigers were Harrisonville at 21, Kansas City Central at 21, O'Hara at 20, Lincoln College Prep, Clinton, Summit Christian Academy and Hogan Prep.

In the girls' division, Lee's Summit West won with 134 points. Warrensburg had 89, Lindbergh 80, Raymore-Peculiar 75, Clinton 52, Rock Bridge 48, Raytown 46, Lincoln College Prep 43, Hogan 25, Kearney 23, O'Hara 20, Notre Dame De Sion 17, Nevada 15, KC Central 13, Harrisonville 10, and Belton and Ruskin.

Senior Ashley Shumaker had the lone first place finish for Nevada, coming in the high jump.

100 Meters - sixth, Dalton Hendren, 11.59; 27th, Chance Mays, 12.16.

200 Meters - seventh, Dalton Hendren, 23.55; 22nd, Ryan Ferris, 24.95.

400 Meters - 24th, Tristan Smith, 59.30.

800 Meters - 21st, Ben Sommer, 2:22.40.

1,600 Meters - 23rd, Ben Sommer, 5:10.80; 25th, Dalton Shunkwiler, 5:11.38.

3,200 Meters - 14th, Dalton Shunkwiler, 11:14.46.

110-meter Hurdles - fifth, Nick Geeding, 18.03; sixth, Justin Marley, 18.09.

300-meter Hurdles - eighth, Justin Marley, 45.03; 18th, Nick Geeding, 48.68.

Shot Put - third, Anthony Mahder, 46-7.

Discus - 11th, Anthony Mahder, 118-3.

High Jump - Connor West; Wyatt Mann competed.
