Rain plagues Bronaugh baseball

Friday, April 19, 2013

The Bronaugh High School baseball team is hoping to get on the field more consistently next week than it has thus far this season, with a full slate of games scheduled.

But the weather, which has played havoc with all the spring sports schedules, may still have something to say about that.

"It's just killed us," noted Wildcats head coach Sean Crane. "We really haven't played a lot."

The Wildcats have gotten in four games -- two against Sheldon and one each against NEVC and Montrose. Bronaugh is still looking for its first victory.

"We've not been blown out in any game," Crane said. "We've been close, but we just haven't put it together as a team."

Chance Wait and Josh Willis have been the bright spots. Wait is hitting near .400, while Willis has "pitched well," said the coach.

"We just need to get some others to contribute," Crane concluded.
