Cottey Comets honored as All-Academic team

The National Junior College Athletic Association has designated the Cottey College Comets volleyball team as a 2012-13 All-Academic team.

The Comets made the list with a combined team grade point average of 3.13. To be named to the NJCAA All-Academic list, a team's cumulative GPA must be better than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

According to the NJCAA, academic team accolades were earned by more than 500 programs with 24 winning the distinction as All-Academic teams. This season, close to 60,000 student-athletes competed in the NJCAA across 3,500 teams in 28 different sports.
