Local man arrested in child porn investigation
A 48-year-old Nevada man was arrested Thursday in an investigation by Nevada Police detectives, working in partnership with the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, concerning the delivery of child pornography, Police Chief Graham Burnley said.
James D. Stevens was taken into custody at his residence in the 300 block of West Allison Street.
Officers from both agencies served Stevens with search warrant for his residence and seized computer equipment which discovered evidence suspected of being in violation of federal statutes prohibiting child pornography.
Burnley said Stevens was arrested on a federal warrant, without incident, and is being held in federal custody without bond in Springfield.
