Mary Evelyn Feller

Mary Evelyn Feller, 81, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Christian Healthcare, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Coffeyville, Kan., to Charles Herbert Pyle and Evelyn Rebecca Fuller Pyle. She was married to Hank Lathrop and he preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Owen Feller in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Mary was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. She worked for Farm and Home Savings and Loan Association retiring after more than 20 years employment. Mary later sold real estate in Shell Knob and Nevada for a number of years. She loved camping, fishing with the family, and bowling in the women's leagues.

Survivors include nine children, Dan Lathrop and his wife, Joann, Colorado Springs, Colo., Dennis Lathrop and his wife, Connie, Peculiar, Mo., Diana Charles and her husband, Tom, Richards, Mo., Doug Lathrop, Kansas City, Mo., Jeff Feller and his wife, Terri, Tahlequah, Okla., Joy O'Roscoe and her husband, Mark, Joplin, Mo., Robin Hughes and her husband, Terry, Fort Scott, Kan., Lisa Biviona and her husband, Richard, Joplin, Mo., and Brad Feller and his wife, Diana, Joplin, Mo.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Herb Pyle and his wife, Arlene, Arlington, Texas, Judy Capps and her husband, Frosty, Joplin, Mo., and Steve Pyle and his wife, Peggy, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Debralee Lathrop; and one grandson, Gabriel Owen Folbre.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Mark Mitchell officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mary was fond of saying these words to live by: "Hug a Child Today."
