Bronaugh school levy decreases for 2014

The Bronaugh Board of Education set the tax levy at $3.617 per $100 assessed valuation down 11 cents from last year's $3.72 at their meeting Aug. 8.

Superintendent Lyle Best reported to the board the roof repair is still waiting on clarification from the insurance company for the scope of work to be done. He gave updates on the new tile floor in the ag room, technology, the 2012-2013 audit, and the back to school night Aug. 20.

Principal James Frank told the board in his report about having a foreign exchange student in the upcoming year, dual credit with Wentworth, and sports night information.

The school board discussed the cost of air conditioning a bus, $3,000, but took no action.

In other business, the school board:

* Voted 6-0 on mandated board procedure policies 2640, 2815, 6140, 6260, regulations 2110, 5620, 6275, and policy and regulation 2240.

* Voted 6-0 on the annual update to job descriptions.
