The construction projects at the Nevada High School are on track and ahead of schedule in spite of the rain, Aaron Height, construction manager for Crossland Construction, told the Nevada R-5 Board of Education during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday night.

The performing arts center is tentatively scheduled to be completed on Sept. 13, with the multi-purpose building being finished on Sept. 10.

However, in the case of the performing arts center, completed does not mean ready to use. The curtains will not be finished at that time.

Height told the board that the colors for the curtains were chosen Wednesday. In fact, Nevada R-5 Superintendent Dr. David Stephens was soliciting opinions from R-5 board members on the color for the curtains during a tour of the performing arts building and the multi-purpose buildings be-fore Wednesday's meeting.

"They may be finished by Nov. 1 -- it could be sooner -- instead of Christmas," Height told the board.

Next week he said asphalt will be laid on the circle drive and the seating will be installed.

The multi-purpose building is essentially completed, except waiting for the cement floor to dry enough to lay the synthetic flooring, and installing a batting cage on the north end of the building. The batting cage will lower from the ceiling when in use.

He told the board that based on the paid invoices the building was about 75 percent complete Wednesday.

"The buildings will be essentially completed this month," Height said.
