Gene and Shirley Banes -- 60 years

Gene and Shirley (Walker) Banes of the Sheldon/Bronaugh area will observe their 60th wedding anniversary with a celebration at the 3M Club House in Nevada hosted by their daughter, Sue Rohrs, and son, Mike Banes. The Sept. 15, 2013, event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and is open to friends and family.

Gene and Shirley were married Sept. 6, 1953, in the Baptist Church at Bronaugh. The couple are parents of three children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
