VCAD director talks about available programs at Lions

Nevada Lions Club President Tom Taylor thanked Vernon County Ambulance District Director James McKenzie, who gave a presentation on the ambulance service and on the Community Emergency Response Team program. The VCAD has five ambulances, nine full-time employees and six part-time employees and operates 24 hours a day. VCAD provides education and public awareness programs, including a first responder class and CERT. The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
