'A Midsummer Night's Dream' comes to Cottey

The Cottey College Department of Theatre will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4 and 5, in the auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts. Performances will begin at 8 each evening. This show is part of Family Weekend festivities.

Written in the 1590s, this play portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and his bride Hippolyta. Categorized as a comedy, it is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world. The play is directed by Michael Denison.

Tickets for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the evenings of the performances.

The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada.
