Ricky Dale "Rick" Hemphill
Ricky Dale Hemphill, 57, of Moundville, passed away Nov. 10, 2013, at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born May 2, 1956, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Earl Eugene and Phyllis Jean (Moffet) Hemphill. On May 2, 2008, he was united in marriage to Leslie Dale O'Sullivan, in Arkansas, and she survives of the home.
Rick was a graduate of Carl Junction High School Class of 1974. He owned his own auto upholstery business in El Dorado Springs, Nevada, and Joplin, and then spent more than 20 years in the construction trade in Nevada. Rick was a good friend to many people. He enjoyed racing his truck at MoKan, farming, fishing, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family -- especially his granddaughter, Tenley. He will be missed a great deal by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie, of Nevada; his children, Richard Hemphill and his wife, Amy, of Moundville, Mo., Randa Williams of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Angela Adlich and husband, Phil, of Warrensburg, Mo., and Justin and Cody of Nevada; grandchildren, Tenley Hemphill, Jessica Determan, Dominic Adlich, Tyler Adlich, and Allison Adlich; and one brother, John Hemphill and his wife, Sherry, of Webb City, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, with a short memorial service to follow at 7 p.m.
