Carmen Shuler
He started holding her hand on a beach in California when they were 16 years old. He held her hand for 58 years and he held her hand the night she went to heaven.
John and Carmen Shuler started their adventures together in Ukiah, Calif. They had three children: Karen, Linda, and Jim. When the kids were in high school, they moved to Dupuyer, Mont., where they had a sprawling ranch and ran a general store. In retirement they lived in Arizona, Colorado, and finally Missouri.
Carmen Shuler has touched many lives and is survived by countless friends and family, including much loved in-laws and many nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral service as per her wishes. She asks that everyone remember the good times. Carmen loved gardening and looked forward to spring every year. This spring when you plant your garden, please think of our dear Carmen. She will be watching your garden bloom from heaven.
Carmen is survived by her husband, John Shuler; children, Linda Carlton (spouse, Frank Carlton) and Jim Shuler (spouse, Trish Shuler); grandchildren, Jamie Lombardo (spouse, Jeremy Lombardo), Amanda Shuler (spouse, Shane Graser), Joe Shuler (spouse, April Shuler), Tommy Thomas, and Cindy Curtis (fiancé, Colby Gibbs); and great-grandchildren, Kylie and Katie Curtis, Brandon Graser, Brooke and Kaydence Shuler, and Alivia Lombardo. She will join her daughter, Karen, and a miscarried baby in heaven along with her mother, father, and a miscarried great-grandchild.
