Duck hunting results mixed

Missouri Conservation Department personnel estimate the number of ducks at the Four Rivers Conservation Area to be around 89,000, with a few geese.

Eighteen positions are available for hunters and hunting has been fair. Some 67 hunters shot 204 ducks last Saturday and Sunday.

An estimated 29,240 ducks -- mostly mallards -- were reported at the Schell-Osage Conservation Area. Forty positions have been available for hunters, but hunting has been only poor to fair.

Officials said 154 hunters shot 416 ducks last weekend at the Conservation Area, near Schell City.
