Ella Maxwell Performing Arts Center opens

The Nevada R-5 School District officially opened the Ella Maxwell Performing Arts Center with a ribbon cutting Wednesday night before the opening presentation of the musical "Pippin." Those in attendance for the ribbon cutting included Nevada R-5 superintendent Dr. David Stephens, all seven current R-5 school board members, former members Warren Lovinger and Larry Forkner, NHS choir director Wes Morton, Jim and Mary Allice Shannon, Shirley Raney, R-5 Foundation, Gerald Whelan, NHS principal and representives from the project architect and construction management company and other R-5 staff members.
