Sheldon Christmas concert and awards

More than 60 people attended the annual Sheldon Winter Music Concert on Monday.

Mayor Jerod Lamb presented the awards for best Christmas lights in town, with Larry Gardner receiving $50 for first place. Debbie Huggins received $30 for second, and Josh Lamb got $30 for third.

Kindergarten through second grade students performed "Frosty the Snow Man," "Up on the House Top," "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Go, Tell It on the Mountain/Away in a Manger."

Third through sixth grade performed "Merry, Merry Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," "Little King," "Jingle Bell Rock," "Hodie, It's Christmas Day," and "Happy Holiday."

Fifth grade beginning band performed "Hot Cross Buns," "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie," "Lightly Row," "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Jingle Bells."

The junior high and high school band performed "Fortius," "Vive' la Paris," "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Fanfare on an Old French Carol," and "Santa of Seville."
