Basketball make-up dates announced
Make-up dates for a pair of Nevada High School basketball contests that were called off due to inclement weather earlier this month have officially been announced.
The Nevada Tigers and Lady Tigers squads were scheduled to take on the Tigers and Lady Tigers of Warrensburg High School on Dec. 13 -- the boys at home and the girls at Warrensburg -- but the threat of a winter storm and icy road conditions forced school officials to call off both games. Last week, Nevada High School athletic director and head boys' basketball coach John McNeley announced via email that both games will be made up in January, one week apart.
McNeley's Tigers are now set to host Warrensburg, Jan. 8, at Wynn Gymnasium. The first of two games on the schedule that night is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
Head coach Brent Bartlett's Lady Tigers will now make the trip to Warrensburg on Jan. 15. The first game on the schedule in that varsity/JV doubleheader is also set to tip off at 5:30 p.m., at Warrensburg High School.
In the meantime, both squads are currently off until Jan. 3, when both the Tigers and Lady Tigers are scheduled to be at home, taking on the Indians of Seneca High School. The first game on the schedule that night is set to tip off at 5 p.m., inside Wynn Gymnasium at Nevada High School.
