Maurice Joseph Cundiff
Maurice Joseph Cundiff, 78, of Lamar, Mo., passed away Dec. 31, 2013. He was born June 29, 1935, in Lamar, to Joe and Hazel Kremp Cundiff.
Maurice was an agriculture equipment mechanic. He worked for John Deere and Hartzler's in Nevada, Mo., Purinton's in Lamar, Mo., and farmed with his parents. He was a member of the C S Oliver Hart Par Association and a member of many tractor pull clubs. His passion for toy tractors became a business called "SOMO Parts" from 1986-2006. He bought and sold toys and parts, attended many shows and owned an extensive toy tractor collection. Maurice married Charlotte Hughes Erwin on Sept. 6, 1984, in Harrison, Ark. He served in the National Guard for nine years. Maurice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Melody Cundiff, Saundra Wehmeyer and husband, Gary, Sue Renwick and husband, Pat, Sally Phipps and husband, John, and Sherry Shaw; sons Bill Erwin Jr. and wife, Janet, Jim Erwin and wife, Vickie, Rick Erwin and wife, Ronda, and Russ Erwin and wife, Marian; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brother Marion Cundiff.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, at Oakton Cemetery in Lamar, Mo., with the Rev. Galen Friedrichs officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.
