Kansas man arrested in alleged armed threat

A Pleasanton, Kan. man has been arrested following an investigation by Nevada Police officers following an incident involving an alleged threat with a shotgun.

Nevada Police concluded an investigation into a felony weapons violation that occurred during the evening of Sunday, Jan. 5,, on Surrey Lane.

According to a press release, a 22-year-old female opened her front door to a male subject known to her from a previous relationship. The suspect was holding a 12-gauge shotgun in his hands while he made threats and cocked the gun.

The resident locked the door and called Emergency 911. Nevada Police officers arrived within moments and after several tense minutes, successfully arrested a 25-year-old Pleasanton, Kan., resident.

The subject was identified as Lonnie Shane Martin. Martin is being held in the Vernon County Jail on an arrest warrant issued by the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court for unlawful use of a weapon.

The arrested subject is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
