Seventh-grade boys' basketball sweeps Webb City on the road
WEBB CITY -- The Nevada Middle School seventh-grade boys' basketball teams took to the road and swept Webb City Monday night, on the Cardinals' home floor.
Head coach Robert Miner's squad took the A game by a final score of 42-23, behind 16 points from Carter Swearingen. Will Johnson added eight points and on the defensive side, Kayden Ast led the way with four rebounds, five steals and one blocked shot.
In the B game, Miner's Tigers put on an even more dominant performance, taking the victory by a final score of 36-11. Bronson Smith led the offensive effort for Nevada with 11 points, while Gabe Barnes pulled down seven rebounds and had one steal.
Nevada's A team is 4-0 on the season, while Monday night's game was the first for the B team.
Webb City won both of the eighth-grade games Monday night, taking the A game by a final score of 41-30 and completing the sweep with a 44-13 victory in the B game.
