House badly damaged in Monday fire

No injuries or deaths were reported in the structure fire at 245 N. Lynn Street owned by Stephanie Foley. The damage is estimated at $40,000.

The Nevada Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on the back porch of the house and found smoke pouring from the two story building on Monday night.

Milo, Deerfield and Compton Junction fire departments assisted Nevada with an interior attack, sending a team of firefighters into the structure to extinguish the blaze from the inside.

With extensive overhaul, careful examination of the structure for remaining sources of heat that may have rekindled the fire, the fire departments brought the fire under control in an hour.
