Seventh-grade boys split McDonald County
ANDERSON, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh-grade boys' basketball teams took to the road Thursday night, to take on McDonald County and came back with mixed results.
In the B game, head coach Robert Miner's squad picked up the victory by a final score of 28-10. Jayden Ast led the offensive effort for Nevada with five points, while Trent Pryor had four rebounds and Coletan Shepard had five steals.
Nevada's A team wasn't nearly as fortunate, as McDonald County picked up the victory in that contest by a final score of 34-41. Carter Swearingen led Nevada's offense with 12 points, while Darien Rucker added six.
On the defensive side, Kayden Ast had eight rebounds and Swearingen had seven steals.
With the loss, Nevada's A team is now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in league play. The B team is 2-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Next on the schedule for Nevada is Jan. 27, when the Tigers take on Lamar, on the road.
