Lennie Marie Stirewalt
Lennie Marie Stirewalt, 59, Diamond, Mo., passed away late Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her home in Diamond. She was born Aug. 10, 1954, in St. Joseph, Mo., to John Leonard Long and Rosealie Marie (McNeece) Long. She and Robert Holland were married on Feb. 13, 1974, and to this union three children were born. Later, she and Brad Harlan Stirewalt were married in May 1993, in Carthage, Mo., and he survives of the home.
Lennie graduated from Greenfield High School in 1972. Following her marriage to Brad, they lived close to her father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Maxine Stirewalt, of Diamond. Lennie worked at Butterball in Carthage for many years along with Wendy's of Carthage. For the last several years, Lennie has been a friend and caregiver for a very special couple, Harold and Jewel of Joplin, Mo. She was a collector of teddy bears and bells. Lennie was a past member of the First Christian Church in Greenfield.
In addition to her husband, Brad, survivors include three children, Kevin Holland, Diamond, Miss., Tammy Holland and Larry, Neosho, Mo., and Christopher Holland, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Johnnie Long, Gumby, Mo., Ronnie Long, Rich Hill, Mo., and Rex Long, Nevada; two sisters, Aleca Taylor, Greenfield, Mo., and Lillian Long, Nevada; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, and their families. Lennie was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Jewel Long; and younger brother, Hayden Long.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at Pennsboro Cemetery, Geenfield, Mo., with the Rev. Elvin Winans officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
