Dry conditions and winds bring burn ban

The Nevada Fire Department has declared a citywide burn ban for an undetermined period of time.

Dry conditions and high winds have pushed the department to temporarily instate a ban on outdoor burns. Burning of yard waste and use of burn barrels is prohibited until further notice.

The ban is expected to be in place until the region receives a substantial amount of rain and wind speeds begin to slow.
