Vernon County Clerk Tammi Beach will not be running for re-election this year. Beach confirmed to the Daily Mail on Tuesday that she would not be on the 2014 ballot.
Beach is currently in the last year of a four-year term as county clerk. Beach was first sworn into the position in January 2003 and has won re-election for the job for the following two elections.
When her term expires on Dec. 31, Beach will have held the county clerk title for 12 years. Prior to her years in the clerk's office, she worked in the prosecuting attorney's office, circuit clerk's office and for law firm Russell, Brown & Breckenridge.
Beach said she plans to work with her husband, Roger, in providing ministery and church programs at Riverside Cowboy Church.
"I'm excited to be taking a new step, but still in some kind of service," she said. "It's something new to focus on."
One of those projects will be building a new amphitheater for the church. Beach said she and her husband plan on creating additional worship programs and workshops for congregants.
