Fort Scott Color Jam 5K run set for May 24
FORT SCOTT -- The Fort Scott Community College volleyball team will be hosting the first annual Fort Scott Color Jam 5K, on May 24, at 9 a.m. The race will start and finish at Fort Scott Community College, and is open to all interested participants.
The run will be similar to the ever-popular, "The Color Run." The Fort Scott Color Jam 5K event will also feature a 1-mile Kids' Run.
Registration is now open at https://www.gorunyourrace.com/Event/Event/35. Cost is $30 for preregistered participants through May 5, and will increase to $35 from May 6-21, and $45 on the day of the race.
Cost for the Kids' Run is $10 through May 5, and will increase $12 from May 6-21, and $15 on race day.
The purpose of the Fort Scott Color Jam 5K is to promote health and wellness in Fort Scott and the surrounding communities, by having as much fun as possible. Participants will receive a white T-shirt, a single color packet and a race day packet with each registration.
All runners, walkers, strollers and groups are welcome to enjoy having a different color of powder thrown on them at each kilometer mark. At the finish line, there will be a final color throw, filling the air with millions of vivid colors.
The Fort Scott Color Jam 5K will also be hosting a Tent Party at the finish line, for the team or group that enters the race with the highest number of participants.
