Carrie Poe has announced her election bid for circuit clerk of Vernon County.

In her announcement, she noted she was born and raised in Vernon County, the daughter of Randy and Sally Jones.

Her grandparents are the late Roy Jones and Dorothy Jones of Nevada and the late Forrest and Kathryn Dilly of Sheldon.

She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have three children, a 13-year-old son, Conner Poe, and a set of twins, a boy, Cameron Poe, and a girl, Jacee Poe, who are 9.

"My family is very active in the Backroads 4-H Club, as well as the shooting sports of Vernon County. I have worked in the circuit clerk's office since 1998.

"I have the clerical knowledge and work experience which it takes to be the circuit clerk. During the last 15 years, I have worked with the child support cases, the associate and circuit civil cases, juvenile and associate criminal cases.

"I have the experience with initiating the cases, assessing the fees according to the law, issuing the proper service document, docketing all filings, scheduling the case, the clerical duties during the hearings and trials, and disposing of the case with recording the judgments.

"I take great pride in my work. I have excellent work ethics and values.

"I am the most qualified person for the position and would love to be your next circuit clerk."
