Nevada track fares well at Joplin meet
JOPLIN -- Both of the Nevada High School track and field teams finished seventh Thursday, in the Joplin Invitational.
Two Lady Tigers won gold medals, Reagan Bradley in the 200-meter dash and Nikiya Feezell in the high jump. Bradley ran second in the 100-meter dash and teamed with Chloe Bartlett, Kelsey McCall and Carsten Warner for third-place finishes in both the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays.
Bartlett, Feezell, Warner and Megan Hold placed sixth in the 4x400 relay. McKayla Hoselton was second in the discus and Brooklyn Vincent was fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put.
For the Tigers, Justin Marley won the 300-meter hurdles and ran fourth in the 110 hurdles, Conner West was third in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump, Ryan Ferris was fifth in the 100 and 10th in the 200, Logan Brewer was ninth in the 400 and Ben Sommer placed eighth in the 1,600-meter run. Chaden Brandt, Michael Brown, Austin Deer and Ferris finished fifth in the 4x100 relay and the team of Nick Geeding, Marley, Sommer and Brewer ran fifth in the 4x400.
Joplin's Eagles won the boys' team title and Ozark took home the girls' team championship.
