Charges for an early 2014 burglary and theft have been filed against a suspect in a separate firearms theft case.
Chance Hill, 19, faces charges of second-degree burglary and theft for a January 8 incident at the Nevada Speedway.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Vernon County Detective David Johnson, Hill was interviewed in early April about his possible involvement in a theft from the racetrack. After initially telling deputies he found items from the speedway outside the track, Hill allegedly said he broke into the racetrack and took several plastic tubs of track merchandise.
A warrant was issued for Hill's arrest on May 21. He was booked Tuesday at the Vernon County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.
Hill, who had been on house arrest since for nearly three months, was scheduled to return to Judge James Bickel's courtroom June 10 for a pre-trial conference for charges stemming from a February firearms theft. Court appearances for Hill's latest charges have not yet been scheduled.
