Nevada Police close felony assault investigation

The Nevada Police Department reported an arrest made in a felony assault case last week.

Detective Josh Westerhold said in a press release from the department that officers responded to a domestic assault incident at an apartment on East Ashland Street, May 23.

A passerby told officers they had seen a 35-year-old female being struck in the face and choked by a male suspect.

Officers arrested Billy Joe Fahnestock soon after, in relation to the incident. He was booked at the Vernon County Jail on felony second-degree domestic assault, and held on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
