Bill Yarberry files for state representative

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Bill Yarberry recently announced that he is running as a Republican for Missouri State Representative for the 126th District, which includes Vernon and Bates County.

"I am running for state representative because I think my life work is similar to a lot of the people of 126th District, Vernon and Bates counties. I am 71 years old and not in the race for money or fame, only to help the people of the 126th district. I have not accepted campaign donations from lobbyist or special interest groups," Yarberry said.

"If elected I will be accessible to people. My name is in the phone book. I would be available to speak at meetings and events; if invited," he said.

Yarberry was born in Willard in 1943 and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1961. He was drafted into the Army where he served from 1965-'66.

"My wife, Linda, and I moved to Vernon County in May 2000 and live on a farm eight and one-half miles east of Milo," he said.

He said he has been a farmer and small business owner for 10-1/2 years. He also worked in four different factory type jobs in the Springfield area.

Yarberry and his wife attend the Elm Street Church of Christ. He is a life member of the NRA, and belongs to the Missouri Cattlemen Association, Elks, Eagles, VFW and American Legion.
