Council plans tour of new fire station

The Nevada City Council has tentatively scheduled a site visit to the new fire department building at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the regular council meeting at 7 p.m., in the council chambers, in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St.

During the Nevada City Council's regular meeting Tuesday it will consider the first reading of a general ordinance to amend the city code to change the population requirement per package liquor license from the current 1,000 to 800.

The council will also be holding a public hearing and then considering an ordinance applying for federal funds to cover part of the city's taxi coupon program.

Other items on the agenda include the first reading of an ordinance to help the city gain clear title to the old Baptist Church before the city demolishes it; the second reading of an ordinance accepting right-of-way easements for the sewer interceptor replacement project.
