Kenneth L. Sneed

Kenneth Leon Sneed, 79, of Sheldon, Mo., passed from this life on Oct. 13, 2014, at his home after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol, of the home; one daughter, Susan (Sneed) Grajales; two grandsons, Dominic and Dontae Horace; son-in-law, Juan A. Grajales; nephews, Clifford E. Sneed, Rick Mead, Bo Bogart, Gary Piper, Rick Piper, and Tom Piper; nieces, Gerri Douglas, Toni Sneed, and Marilyn Stout; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Inn and Eva Park, Ralph and Sally Bogart, and Gary and Reba Piper; and numerous friends and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son K. Eric Sneed; parents, Bill and Edna Sides and Harvey R. Sneed; siblings, Robert E. Sneed, Clifford Earl Sneed, and LaDora (Sneed) Mead; and nephew Shon Bogart and niece Vicki (Sneed) Agapeau.

Kenneth was born to Harvey Robert and Edna Mae (French) Sneed on Jan. 4, 1935, in Garvin County, Okla., where he spent his school years graduating from Maysville High School, with a strong emphasis in agriculture. After graduation he moved to California to stay with relatives where he attended a tech school to learn the art of carpentry. While there, he met and married Carol Sue Phillips, in Contra Costa County, Calif., in 1959. The couple moved to Missouri in 1963, and bought a farm where Kenneth raised cattle and worked as a carpenter superintendent on many jobs.

In his spare time Kenneth loved to fish, deer hunt, and spend time with his family.

A memorial service for Kenneth L. Sneed will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Private interment will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be made in Mr. Sneed's memory to the Sheldon Baptist Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
