NMS VB teams close out season with third place finishes

The Nevada Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team came away with a win over Neosho 25-6, 25-21 at host Neosho's Tri-County Volleyball Tournament, Monday.

During Tuesday play, the Tigers fell in the semifinals to Carl Junction 25-12, 25-3.

Nevada rebounded in the third place match, topping Joplin North 25-19, 25-18.

The eighth-grade A team finished they season at 9-8, while the B team was 7-3.

Seventh-grade VB

The NMS seventh-graders also took to the court, in a tournament at Joplin East, Monday. The Tigers edged Webb City in the first set 25-22, 25-16.

On Tuesday, they were ousted by Carl Junction in the semifinals. The Tigers bounced back in the third place game by edging Joplin South 25-23, 25-22. They finished their season with a 9-5 record. The seventh-grade B team ended the season at 8-2.
