In middle school basketball action Thursday night, the Nevada seventh-grade A-team (3-1) steamrolled Fort Scott 51-4. Nevada's B-team followed suit, dispatching Fort Scott 31-0.

"We rebounded from a tough loss to Webb City on Tuesday and came out aggressive tonight," Nevada head coach Danny Penn said. "We did a nice job of putting pressure on their ball-handlers and turned that into lots of turnovers and fast breaks."

For Nevada, three A-team players scored in double figures: point guard Calli Beshore and Jadeann Highley scored 12 points apiece, while Teagan Charles added 10 points. Payge Dahmer finished with 9.

"We had a nice mix of balanced scoring tonight; Jadeann and Teagan controlled the offensive glass while Calli and Payge did a great job of playing passing lanes and coming up with steals," Penn said. "Where we picked up lots of dumb fouls Tuesday against Webb, we played much more intelligently tonight and I was proud of the girls for responding well."
