Nevada swim season underway

Nevada's swim team opened its season at the Carthage Lady Tiger Dual, competing in 12 different events. Teams represented included Monett, host Carthage, Ozark, Lamar, Harrisonville, Seymour, and Joplin. Carthage won four of the events, Monett three, Ozark two, and Nevada one, with the Tigers prevailing in a relay.

Placing for the Nevada swimmers were:

* Event One: Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay: Second, (Makayla Haner, Paige Webb, Mikayla Mohrman, Emma Denman), 2:08.57.

* Event Two: Girls 200 Yard Freestyle: Ninth, Aly Lunkenheimer, 2:34.03; 13th, Elizabeth Prewitt, 2:40.48; 18th, Virginia Haverstic, 2:53.88; 22nd, Elizabeth Berberich, 3:24.60; 23rd, Alyx Hawkins, 3:48.20.

* Event Three: Girls 200 Yard IM: Third, Morgan Ernsbarger, 2:39.51; Fourth, Maddie McCaffree, 2:41.93; Sixth, Janna Scotten, 2:48.41; 12th, Melody Reichard, 2:56.69.

* Event Four: Girls 50 Yard Freestyle: Second, Emma Denman, 28.17; Fourth, Mikayla Mohrman, 29.19; 24th, Grace McKenzie, 40.30; 27th, Alyx Hawkins, 40.69.

* Event Six: Girls 100 Yard Butterfly: Fourth, Morgan Ernsbarger, 1:15.92; Fifth, Maddie McCaffree, 1:18.47; Sixth, Janna Scotten, 1:21.88.

* Event Seven: Girls 100 Yard Freestyle: Third, Mikayla Mohrman, 1:06.50; Fourth, Makayla Haner, 1:06.92; Sixth, Emma Denman, 1:09.33; Eighth, Abbie Landoll, 1:11.71.
