Billie Jean Simpson
Billie Jean Simpson, 83, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. Billie was born on June 11, 1931, in Wichita, Kan., to Henry Ratliff and Bertha Sarah (Oyer) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Floyd Robert Simpson on May 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1993.
Billie was raised in Vernon County and attended Nevada schools. Later she began working at Cottey College, in Nevada, in housekeeping where she continued to work for 10 years. Billie lived all of her adult life in Nevada.
Survivors include her children, Charlie Simpson, Nevada, Susie Kalthoff and her husband, Robert, Nevada, Nancy Eaton and her husband, Dale, Nevada, Paul Simpson, Nevada, Sara Turley, Nevada, and Robert Simpson and his wife, Darla, Dallas, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Robert Simpson; parents; and one grandson, Lee Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Interment will be held in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home.
