Nevada ninth-grade squad crushes Seneca

SENECA ---- The Nevada Tigers freshmen boys' basketball team cruised to a 31-9 victory over Seneca, Monday evening. The victory improved Nevada to 5-1.

"We are definitely developing as a unit, and growing each and every day," Nevada head coach Blake Howarth said. "You can just see the boys working harder giving more effort, believing in each other, and coming together as one."

Nevada led 9-0 after the first frame, and increased their lead to 19-2 at the half. By the conclusion of the third quarter, the Tigers led 29-4.

Howarth said he was pleased with his team's effort.

"We just really worked on fundamental stuff," Howarth said. "Dribbling, passing, boxing out, and fundamental defense.

For the Tigers, forward Braeden Hinton scored a game-high eight points, while Hunter Mason added seven. Daulton Shepard and Zach Gardner chipped in with six apiece. Braxton Shadden and Tayte Moore were able to get into the scoring mix, with two each.
