Sheldon R-8 High School now offers Dave Ramsey's "Foundations in Personal Finance," a curriculum for teaching financial literacy to students.

Ramsey tailors the lessons to students by using fun, easy to understand methods and interactive learning. The class is taught on DVD by Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze.

"To graduate from high school you have to know what an amoeba is, but not how to balance your checkbook," said Ramsey. "After years of listening to parents tell me their financial woes on the radio it made sense to develop a program that would teach teenagers how to avoid their parent's mistakes."

"Foundations in Personal Finance" is a turnkey curriculum that meets standards and benchmarks in all 50 states and Jump$tart national standards. More than 10,000 high schools and educational institutions are teaching their students how to better manage their finances and build wealth so they can have a solid financial future.
