Saturday night's third annual father-daughter dance at the community center drew 601 participants, according to Dana Redburn, city of Nevada Parks and Recreation director. Dads, uncles, and grandfathers came with their daughters, granddaughters and nieces of all ages. The youngest daughter wasn't even walking, the oldest was in her mid-40s. Dads showed up with multiple girls, one father escorting four daughters. For many of those in attendance, it was a family event, with generations on hand. "We are already planning for next year and are considering maybe looking for a larger venue to accommodate our growth," said Redburn.

Each girl attending got a charm, a tradition started last year, with the goal of providing a lasting memento. A local sorority assisted with this, and volunteers from the high school student council and Renaissance program provided the coat checks.
